Replace missing teeth and help restore your smile.
Dentures are removable false teeth that are worn to replace missing teeth. These artificial teeth are generally made of acrylic and designed to best match your natural teeth. If you’ve lost all of your natural teeth, whether from gum disease, tooth decay or injury, replacing missing teeth will benefit your appearance and your health. Dentures can help fill out the appearance of your face and profile. They can be made to closely resemble your natural teeth so that your appearance does not change much. New dentures may feel awkward for a few weeks until you become accustomed. Dentures may even improve the look of your smile.
Dentures are custom-made in a dental laboratory from impressions taken of your mouth. Your dentist will determine which of the three types of dentures described below is best for you.
1. Conventional Full Denture
Full or complete dentures replace all of the natural teeth in either the upper or lower jaws. These suit patients who have lost most or all of their natural teeth.
2. Partial Denture
Partial dentures fill in the spaces left by lost or missing teeth and are attached to your natural teeth with metal clasps or devices called precision attachments. These suit patients who have lost just one or a few of their natural teeth and wish to fill in the gap left behind.
